The Local Plan has yet to be agreed.
The following is a timetable.
Draft Plan goes before Cabinet for approval to submit to Government
Mid October, … dates to be confirmed,…
Public consultation opens.
Representations will be included in submission.
Submission to Government, and Inspector appointed to investigate the plan.
Inspector has meetings and investigations into the strength of the plan proposals
Hopefully the plan will be approved and become official.
Failure of the Plan will inevitably mean that “hostile” applications will be submitted, and NHDC will lose its power to determine individual applications, along with the financial benefits, e.g. New Homes Bonus, which will impact on the finances locally and district wide.
When we know the exact dates for the public consultation, there will be an urgent need for representations to be made to the inspector, who may then call for attendances at public examinations.
